Price of fuel decrease(Gov't slashes petrol price by 15 sen)

The government announces that price of RON97 petrol will go down by 15 sen from RM2.70 to RM2.55 per litre at the pumps beginning midnight, a reduction of 5.6 percent.
MCPXMeanwhile, the lower grade RON92 petrol will be slashed by 22 sen from RM2.62 to RM2.40 a litre.

For diesel, the price will go down by eight sen, from RM2.58 to RM2.50.
Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi made the announcement today - two days after he reiterated that petrol prices would not be cut before Aug 31.
It is believed that the announcement was made ahead the crucial by-election in Permatang Pauh to be held next Tuesday.

"The petrol prices were fixed after taking into account the real price of petrol from Aug 1 to Aug 21, as well as the fixing of 30 sen subsidy for both grades," he said in a statement.
"Apart from this, the cabinet also decided to reduce the price of diesel by eight sen. At RM2.50 per litre, the subsidy borne by the government for diesel will be 50 sen for every litre."
According to Abdullah, the reduction of the fuel prices was made possible due to a significant drop in global oil prices this month.

Part 1: Proton Gen2 CPS Review

So much has happened in the Proton camp over the last couple of years; the introduction of new cars, hostile take-over(glad that's over), company restructuring, A1 GP and the CPS. Yup the much awaited Cam Profiling Switching, Protons very own variable valve system is now made available to the public.

Though variable valve technology isn't something new, it's still a big achievement for Proton in achieving this, however is it any match against the more established VTEC's, MIVEC's, CVVTs, Variocam's, and other VVT's in the market? We'll have to wait and see what the motoring public has to say about the CPS. The author of the extreme magazine have the opportunity to test the new car over a distance of 2000KM and this is the story began.

Saving Fuel Tips

Below are the tips to save your car fuel.
Tips 1: Gently Driving Habit
Driving habit or should I say driving style can save us 30% of the fuel for combustion. It is how you step on the paddle and accelerate that make the differences. When approaching traffic lights or halt your vehicle, take off your foot from the pedal and let it flow for a distance.
The same for movement from still position, push the pedal gently and drive forward slowly and gain some speed.

Tips 2: Downhill Driving
Set your gear shift to neutral when coming downhill as oppose from the theory of gravity from Newton. Remember keep an eye on your surrounding and alert on braking when necessary.

Tips 3: Regular Tired Pressure Checking
Make sure your tire pressure checked weekly. Unsufficent air from the tire will significantly waste petrol since more resistance from the tire and road consume more energy from the engine for rev, in addition of that waste.

Tips 4: Take of Unncessary Stuff from Vehicle
Take off any unuseful stuff from your vechicle, more load means more energy consume to run your vechicle hence more fuel being burn to move your car.
